    Independent Study Demonstrates ROI of Altiris Service-Oriented Management Solutions

    SALT LAKE CITY – Nov. 14, 2006 – Altiris, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATRS), a pioneer of service-oriented management solutions, today announced that a new Forrester Consulting Total Economic Impact™1 study2, commissioned by Altiris, has demonstrated that IT organizations can realize positive return on investment and quantifiable business benefits by implementing Altiris® Total Management Suite™ software.

    The study created a composite company based on interviews conducted with Altiris customers and determined that the ROI for this company would be 87 percent with a payback period within 13 months after deployment of Altiris products.

    The Forrester Consulting study created a medium-sized, multi-national composite organization based upon interviews conducted with five customers using Altiris Total Management Suite. Benefits of using Total Management Suite accruing to the composite company amounted to approximately $2.3 million during a three-year period.

    By aggregating the findings from the customer interviews and constructing a composite organization, the study illustrates the risk-adjusted financial benefits of implementing Total Management Suite.

    According to the study, customers using Total Management Suite can achieve:

    • Faster, cheaper re-imaging of PC and servers
    • Reduced hardware inventory
