All Altiris consulting engagements follow tried and tested methodologies designed to ensure success. Each engagement delivered will include one or more step from the Implementation Approach below. By breaking engagements into steps you are able to see measurable results at key increments during the process:
Assessment
In the assessment phase, Altiris consultants partner with your staff to align stakeholders and gain consensus on the most critical challenges to your organization. Further, consultants work with you to evaluate your existing infrastructure and determine which technologies and systems can be leveraged as part of a new solution.
Proof of Concept
The proof of concept ensures, prior to product purchase, that specific Altiris functionality will work in your unique environment.
Architecture/Design
The design phase focuses on your organizational infrastructure and needs, resulting in a customized architecture, configuration settings and a pilot test plan for deploying the solution.
Pilot
The pilot validates deployment and/or migration recommendations that Altiris consultants have made to this point. Besides testing the overall solution and making the necessary alterations, the pilot also allows your staff to benefit from knowledge transfer by working side-by-side with Altiris consultants.
Implementation
The implementation phase is for customers who want assistance in managing the full-scale deployment of Altiris solutions by an on-site industry expert. Full implementation is always customized to match a specific scope and reasonable timeframe.
Transition and Steady-State
Once your solution has been deployed, Altiris Consultants will transition responsibility of the solution to your IT staff and Altiris support professionals. This may include handing off final engagement materials such as documentation, skills gap analysis and recommending education courses for continued knowledge transfer.
The steady-state phase can also include a post-implementation HealthCheck, in which Altiris consultants follow up to ensure the solution continues to function properly and still addresses your business challenges. If necessary, consultants will work with Altiris support engineers to fix any outstanding problems and even work with you to re-architect the solution to meet your evolving business needs.
