Advances In Bacon

September 22Bacon Salt

Forgive your Smile File editors for being absent Monday — we were in transit to NYC to attend the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting. In fact, as we write, we're cold chillin' in the press room thinking fondly of the bomb-sniffing security dog we met outside. A very sweet chocolate lab.

While we wait for CGI to kick-off, you can read our Clinton Global Initiative coverage en total, or you can come with us as we mentally wander to our happy place: advances in bacon.

Today's Smile File comes courtesy Smile Filer Ben and fancy blog ThinkGeek, for they have discovered the ultimate: Bacon Salt. As you know we're big fans of anything bacon-related, so this just tops off our happy spot.

We're pretty sure some of the attendees at CGI will frown at us for celebrating a culprit in making America fat (we're looking at you Ashton), but we care not. We will eat a salad after we have our fries topped off with bacon salt. And then go for a run. And drink a bottle of water. So there.

Erin Green spends a lot of time scouring vintage record stores for old comedy albums. When she's not riffling through vinyl, she's writing, producing videos, or reminiscing about the BBQ in San Luis Obispo. She is a Senior Editor at Tonic too.
