Do you want to hear Beck cover Velvet Underground and Nico's "Sunday Morning" with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, actor Giovanni Ribisi and others? It's right here for free on his website.

Have fulfilled his recording contract with Universal, Beck is certainly making the most of his newfound freedom. Fortunately, we're the ones winning out.

The Silver Lake alt-rocker is assembling his music buddies for a new covers project called Record Club, in which will re-record classic tracks and albums. "Sunday Morning" is the opening salvo, and new songs will be released each week with future collaborations to include MGMT, Jamie Lidell and Devendra Banhart.

"An album will be chosen to be reentered and used as a framework," says the "Loser" singer on his site. "Nothing rehearsed or arranged ahead of time. A track will be uploaded once a week on beck.com as well as through the web sites of those involved in the project."

Beck, who only plans to release the songs online, is expected to release the entire Velvet Underground and Nico album one track at a time. Personally, I don't know which cover I'm more excited to hear, "I'm Waiting For the Man" or "Venus in Furs," but Beck deserves mad props for a project that exemplifies his love for both music and his fellow music fans.

And where does one go after Lou Reed and Co.? It's going to be fun to find out!
