Bing Jingle Rejects Hit The WebBy Steve Tanner | Sunday, August 9, 2009 2:02 PM ET As Tonic reported a couple of weeks ago, Microsoft held an open audition to come up with a jingle for its heavily promoted Bing search service. The winner, announced on Aug. 5, is Jonathan Mann's "Bing Goes the Internet." It's super cheesy but also oddly endearing: But for all of you who prefer the first two or three episodes of each season of "American Idol" -- you know, featuring often-cruel and voyeuristic vignettes of hopelessly untalented crooners and croakers -- we present to you 10 choice rejects, as compiled by Silicon Alley Insider. Enjoy! "B b b Bing" by Mike Vardy: "Bing(le) Jingle with subitles" by Hannah and Kellen Campbell: "I Like to Bing it Bing it" by [anonymous]: "Say Hello to Bing" by [anonymous]: "Bing Ballad" by Ryan Duncan: "Trippy Post-It Notes" by [anonymous]: "What the H-E-C-K?" by [anonymous]: "Bing Bing Sensitive Mix" by John Clinebell: "The Sound of Found" by [anonymous]: "N is for Anything" by [anonymous]: (Image courtesy of Microsoft) Steve Tanner is a freelance writer based in the Santa Cruz Mountains who got his start covering the meteoric rise and subsequent crash-landing of Silicon Valley’s dot-com experiment. |
