Getting Medieval in BrasovBy David Jenison | Monday, October 26, 2009 8:00 AM ET
Unless you chose a hotel or hostel out in the woods, your visit to Brasov will likely find you staying within walking distance of the popular city center. Both tourists and locals flock to the square, and there's usually at least one English-speaking staff person at the many restaurants and bars. The eating establishments also offer a wide variety, from burritos to brown bear fillets, though ice cream certainly seems to be the most popular dish in town.
Transylvania's most popular city square is absolutely beautiful, but that shouldn't be a surprise. Vlad Dracula always had great taste, so what do you expect from an area he once called home?
