But How Do They Do Yoga in Skinny Jeans?

A new site answers the all-important question: What do hipsters do when they want to "exercise?"

Hipsters of today are a unique subset of society with some key distinguishing traits: skin of an ashen pallor; super-thin bodies usually achieved through chain-smoking; a love of interesting headgear including fedoras, beanies and snoods; existential literature (think Nietzsche) they can store in their back pocket and read on the subway with an air of superiority; "interesting" haircuts of some sort and thickly-framed glasses. What doesn't quite cohere with this general portrait of a hipster in 2010 is physical fitness of any type.

Enter Hipster Yoga, a new site from "Hipster Ring" (yes, a network of sites devoted to gently mocking while also idolizing hipsters that includes last year's runaway Internet phenomenon "Look at this F*cking Hipster"). Hipster Yoga gently modifies some of yoga's most popular poses for Pabst-clutching, mustachioed, keyboard-playing hipsters so they can still get a few sun salutations in (even if they avoid the sun at all costs) while wearing skinny jeans and remaining true to their aesthetic.

1. Keep the right knee bent and the pack of Winstons parallel to the floor.

2. Draw the belly in slightly and contemplate the next line of poetry.

3. Reach out through both finger tips, the gaze is forward over the right hand.

4. Eat vegan because it’s safe to animals but smoke cigarettes around everyone.
