Keep Britain Tidy Can't Find a Decent Spokesperson

If your summer travel itinerary includes a trip to England, it'll be hard not to notice the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, with its bright logo on garbage cans (or, as the Brits call them, rubbish bins) just about everywhere. Even though it's not exactly a bold or comprehensive recycling campaign, this initiative deserves credit for sheer longevity -- it's been going since the 1950's and helping to at least make a dent in keeping streets clean up and down the British Isles.

Over the years, Keep Britain Tidy has enlisted a handful of celebrities -- including Abba! -- for spokespeople.  Now, they're looking for a new face. The hunt is harder than it used to be, since only clean living potential poster celebs need apply. (I guess that nixes the Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty "Use The Bin" duet.) Plus, in an era when celebs can make 5 figures just for attending a party? Whoever's chosen has to take the position for free. On the bright side, all that's required is two days of annual work (ostensibly for ad shoots and interviews) and a love of all things clean.

Know a celeb that's interested? Have them send a resume to celebrity@keepbritaintidy.org. Just make sure they're prepared to be spotless in the spotlight -- or there could be a dethroning.
