Drowned Pregnant Woman Brought Back to Life

When rescuers found 23-year-old Sade Davis, she wasn't breathing and had no pulse. In fact, she was technically dead. What's more, the Maryland woman was eight months pregnant. Yet somehow, miraculously, both Davis and her unborn son, Jayden, are alive and well today.

According to a NBCWashington.com story, Davis was driving alone down a Maryland street when her car veered off the road, flipped over and landed in a creek on the morning of October 24th. A passerby, who happened to see the accident, flagged down a firetruck en route to another call. Rescuers pulled Davis from the partially-submerged vehicle, but worried she was a goner.

Rescuers quickly noticed Davis was pregnant, but she was not breathing and had no pulse. At that point, rescue workers were wondering whether they should just try to save the baby, but miraculously, Davis started breathing again, her pulse returning. In essence, she came back from the dead.

Davis appeared on The CBS Early Show Friday to tell her tale. Though Davis has no memory of the accident itself, she said that she actually started going into premature labor after she was revived. Doctors gave her and the baby some medication ,which luckily prevented the early birth. Davis says she expects to deliver a healthy baby on her due date, December 9th.

And she certainly doesn't take her second chance at life for granted. Davis told The CBS Early Show that once Jayden is born, she's always going to tell him to count life's blessings. After hearing what his mom went through while she was pregnant with him, we're guessing Jayden will have no problem doing just that.
