Eminem Issues "The Warning", Nick Cannon Gives Him The Hand!By Wynter Mitchell | Monday, August 3, 2009 3:13 PM ET
What's the beef you may ask? Can I just link it and let you get lost in the semantics? The lovely and talented Ms. Carey is working hard on a new album release "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" due out this September. It's full of Mariah-approved cheesy but groovy loveliness that we adore her for including her latest single "Obsessed" which seems to be aimed at Eminem's obsession with their short lived romance. She insists that he never went that far with her, and he insinuates ... a whole lot of other stuff. Well Eminem came out swinging with great force on a track simply called "The Warning", not just in Mariah's direction -- but taking aim at her husband Nick Cannon, even taking a shot at Nick's supposed lack of a career. (Cannon is in fact gainfully employed and is the host of NBC's "America's Got Talent.") I want to pause here for a moment: Cannon married and fell in love with one of the biggest stars in the world, and he's not too shabby in the star power department either. But any man in Hollywood willing to marry a woman of such grandiose worth, power and status and not have any ego about it is pretty cool in my book. Instead of taking to the airwaves, issuing a statement through his publicist, or going straight for the jugular in a vicious attack over catchy beats and auto-tune, Cannon took another course of action by defending the honor of his beloved Mimi - he used Twitter to defend his beloved. You gotta hand it to Cannon, stepping in on behalf of his lady is quite chivalrous! And not something we see very often in Hollywood: a man willing to stick up for his lady -- especially against someone so abrasive as Eminem. |
