Fly Without FearBy Chaniga Vorasarun | Wednesday, November 4, 2009 8:19 AM ET
According to Reuters, it’s all part of Virgin Atlantic’s larger Flying Without Fear program, which is helping customers get over "those strange noises that an airplane makes, turbulence" and helps people cope with "claustrophobia, panic attacks, anxiety, or the fear of losing control," Virgin’s Web site says. The app, which is available on iPhones, includes "a video-based in-flight explanation of a flight, frequently asked questions, relaxation exercises and a fear attack button for emergencies with breathing exercises." Will it work? Virgin says that so far, its program has had a 98 percent rate of success at conquering flying fears — and probably getting new customers, too. So hop on. What's the worse that could happen? If you get a panic attack, just remember what your therapist told you. But there's probably an app for that, too.
