Hey Naomi Campbell! Is There Some Talent in the House?
As great as Facebook and Twitter can be, sometimes the sheer volume of information you get in a day (or even a couple hours) can be pretty daunting. And once you get past the super-trivial updates — what everyone you "friended" ate for breakfast; which of your followers is sitting on an airport runway — it can be a challenge to accomplish the networking that was the reason you signed up for those sites in the first place.
And that explains why you should check out Talenthouse, a brand new website that's been set up to inspire and connect creative types in the worlds of fashion, film, music, photography, and art. Some big names — like supermodel Naomi Campbell and songwriter (and fashion designer) Dallas Austin — have already raised their hands to support the site by hosting so-called "creative invitations," which promote collaborations between creators in the different media. The site's not overly chatty, or dry and businessy — it's sort of a virtual coffee house full of cool arty types to meet and work with.
You'll probably still want to use Facebook and Twitter for family and personal tidbits, but if you do something creative and want to meet kindred spirits, logging onto Talenthouse will make you feel right at home ...
