Karen O Goes Wild!
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs released a new album earlier this year, but that doesn't mean singer Karen O is through with her creative output for the year. She's working with composer Carter Burwell and others on helping craft the score to Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are. A sample of her music can be heard in the film teaser below that was shown recently at Comic-Con.
The NYC rocker has worked on films before, such as Jackass 2 and I'm Not There, but her work on Wild Things involves working on the score itself, not merely recording a song for the soundtrack. Her collaborator, Burwell, is known for doing nearly all the Coen Brothers films as well as Twilight, Hamlet and others. The film itself, currently scheduled for an October release, is an adaptation of Maurice Sendak's 1963 children's picture book.
