Look What Polarized Lenses Do

I'm kinda the queen of the $5-$10 sunglasses that can be purchased on the street -- not because I lose sunglasses, but because I invariably crush them with my laptop in my purse or, um, my derriere -- but I recently came into a pair of Maui Jims. I know I'm behind the times and all, but this is my first pair of polarized sunglasses.

My previous experience with polarization was trying on Grant Henderson's pair in high school. I remember there were like five of us in a hammock, passing them around. I tried them on and was like "whoa" (which is coincidentally also what my love is like). He took them back pretty quickly; I think he saw me get the "thievin' eyes."

Anyway, I just rocked the Maui Jims for four days in Maui, and it's still kinda like "whoa." In particular, what the lenses do to the ocean is trippy as all get-out.

If you ever wanted a genuine reason to get expensive sunglasses, here it is: Before and after photos below (I took the second photo through a Maui Jim lens). It's like being on drugs while protecting your delicate eyes. Win-win.
