Jilted 'The Bachelor' Finalist Melissa Rycroft Engaged!

Following the most embarrassing dis in TV history, former The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars contestant Melissa Rycroft gets to walk down the aisle! Rycroft is set to marry boyfriend Tye Strickland, a Dallas insurance agent. The two were on and off for more than two years.

Their romance started to re-heat after her televised dumping by The Bachelor Jason Mesnick last spring during the After The Final Rose special. Rycroft, 26, later competed on Dancing With The Stars, on which she finished as the second runner-up on the season finale. Strickland was frequently seen cheering on his bride to be and popped the question to the Texas beauty in her hometown. No wedding date has been set.

You may remember Rycroft was the original choice of bachelor Mesnick, but during the After the Final Rose special, he revealed that the chemistry changed with Melissa over the weeks after the end of the show, and that he still loves Molly Melaney, his other choice. He broke up with Melissa and asked Molly for another chance to which she gladly obliged. While his brutal honesty was acknowledged, he was more or less criticized for leading Melissa on and publicly embarrassing her. Jilted, Rycroft went on to face the embarrassment publicly — and it has paid off: In addition to rekindling her love, she's landed a gig as a summer correspondent for Good Morning America.
