Save Animals with a Light Saber Lunch

Would you like to hear what Skywalker thought of the Star Wars prequels and Jar Jar Binks? Or would you like to ask him when he first heard that Darth Vader was his dad? Want to ask him to sign your toy light saber? All that is possible and more if you make the winning bid for lunch with Mark Hamill.

Hamill, who portrayed the unforgettable Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, is the latest celeb to join the Precious Paws charity event. Rather than having one big fundraising meal, the dog and cat rescue organization is auctioning off several lunches with different celebrities. Starting Nov. 5, Precious Paws will launch the 10-day auction on eBay in which individuals can bid on lunch for two with celebs like Hamill, Anthony Michael Hall, Susan Olsen and Eric Roberts, among others.

For those holding out for a Julia Roberts lunch or a Charlize Theron kiss, there is also celebrity memorabilia up for auction, including guitars signed by Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) and the Eagles, and an autographed beer can from Def Leppard's Joe Elliott. And for those who can't afford lunch with Skywalker, you can at least bid on autographed Star Trek pictures.

It may not be "The force is with you," but "Live long and prosper" is still pretty darn cool, especially since you'll be helping needy animals do just that.

Covering entertainment since the early '90s, David Jenison has conducted over 1,000 interview features that range from roving through Havana with the Happy Mondays to upending the Mayor of Hermosa Beach's house with Pennywise.
