Chow Down on Viagra Soup!

Soup always warms the tummy and soothes the soul, but a particular stew at some New York City restaurants supposedly causes an entirely different, ahem, sensation.

According to a New York Daily News story, a chain of three Spanish-American restaurants in Brooklyn and Queens started serving up a very unusual dish: Viagra soup! El Rey Restaurant I, II and III offers up the seafood soup to patrons looking for a little pick-me-up.

"We named it Viagra soup because of the ingredients it has to make you feel stronger, energetic.. and ready when the right time comes along," Euclides (Junior) Genao, manager of El Rey II Restaurant, told the New York Daily News. "There's something in seafood that makes you horny."

We can't vouch for the stew's side effects, but it certainly does sound delish: The dish contains shrimp, fish, lobster, crabs, clams and half a shot of tequila. It also comes with a side of fried plantains.

And while Viagra soup doesn't require a prescription, it is only available by special order and may cost you even more than a dose of the little blue pills: One serving of the soup sells for $32.

Judging by the number of customers who line up for the soup, we're guessing it might be worth the hefty price tag. Genao says he serves up 10 to 15 orders of the dish daily.
