We've all heard about carbon footprints and most likely used online tools to work out how much we emit either for travel or from our households. Now, a group called the H2O Conserve Group in the U.S. has launched the H2O Calculator for you to work out how much water you and everyone in your household uses.

With water conservation becoming more and more of an issue around the world (in the U.K., water bans have become commonplace during the summer months), this tool will help you conserve as much water as possible. Not only does it calculate the water you use, it even calculates the water used to produce your food and other goods — which end up comprising the great majority of your water footprint. The calculator will also give you useful tips on how to save water and determine how much water you use on a daily basis.

There are also links for the U.K. and a metric calculator for most other countries outside the U.S. It's a fun and easy tool to use, and with all the great water saving tips it should help you reduce your water footprint dramatically — which helps all of us. The site also features great information and advise on water, water uses, conserving water and much more ... Calculate your water footprint here.
