A 94-Year-Old Vet Walks the Plank Down Memory Lane

At 94 years old, World War II veteran Frank Borrell learned that he had terminal cancer. Before he could pass in peace after a long and beautiful life, he had one last request: to revisit the USS Missouri for its 65th anniversary. On Sept. 2, 1945 the battleship that participated in the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa docked at Pearl Harbor where the surrender of Japan was officially accepted, ending World War II. Borrell is one of the last surviving men who witnessed the signing of the historical event.

The vet's wish came true thanks to Dream Foundation, an organization that helps to grant wishes for adults suffering life-threatening illness.
