A Campaign You Can Sink Your Teeth Into

Here's True Blood hottie Alexander Skarsgard in his photo for the Tails for Whales campaign. Skarsgard is posing in support of the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s (IFAW) global initiative calling for stronger whale protection. Their latest campaign raises awareness about the threats facing whales and their habitats, including commercial whaling and climate change. We wrote about it a while back — seems like it just keeps growing.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare works to improve animal welfare prevent animal cruelty and abuse,  protect wildlife and provide animal rescue around the world. IFAW has worked on stopping elephant ivory trading and saving whales from extinction. The foundation works to create solutions that benefit both animals and people.

Skarsgard's True Blood co-star Kristin Bauer recently chatted with Starpulse about her passionate advocacy for animal welfare: "I think people are inherently good. You just tell people that the dog they are buying in a pet store came from a horrible life and you are supporting a horrible industry, and if you go to shelters you can still get a wonderful dog."  Bauer is also a long time supporter of IFAW, she also narrates their DVDs.
