Fly the Naked Skies
Most passengers look forward to the in-flight movie, but Air New Zealand flyers can't wait for the safety video. Why is that? Because the video's cabin staff is naked!
As Gary Coleman would say, "What you talkin' about Willis?"
In a way to get passengers to pay attention to the safety rules, the country's national airlines produced the "Bare Essentials of Safety" video (see below) in which the pilot, flight attendants and other cabin staff appear sans clothing. Now before you get too excited, the clip doesn't show everything "down under." Each crew member spent three hours getting dressed up in body paint, and viewers are generally just teased with life jackets and arm rests strategically placed to keep things rated PG. Still, the clip is quite revealing, especially when one of the female flight attendants shows us her toned backside in the vid's delightful ending.
You know how good this clip is? "Bare Essentials" has gone viral on YouTube with over a million views in just a matter of days. I think I just thought of a way to make those boring high school education films a lot more watchable!
The airline is also using the body paint idea for television spots with the appropriate slogan, "At Air New Zealand, our fares have nothing to hide." Best of all, the company used actual airline employees, not actors, which should make these crew members the celebrities of any flight they work.
Air New Zealand, oh how we love thee!
