Annie Scott: Congratulations to Her Deepness, Dr. Sylvia Earle!

Congratulations to Her Deepness (as she is called by the New Yorker and the New York Times), Sylvia Earle! Earle won one of this year's TED prizes. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and began in 1984 to unite those three separate, but intrinsically related industries. Now a whole online community exists (think Facebook meets the Creative Gigs section of Craigslist), and they have a yearly conference in the spring which celebrates new ideas and top innovators in the T, E, D, and other fields. The TED Prize is awarded to three individuals each year. They receive $100,000 and "One Wish to Change the World." Their wishes are unveiled at the spring conference, and TED members all over the world work to make them come true! But enough about TED, let's talk about Sylvia. Knight
