The Anti-Gossip: March 1, 2010
Justin Bieber Turns Sixteen: Ah, Bieber, just a few months ago we didn't even know ye. Now, you're a national phenom, Usher's protege, an ever-present Twitter trending topic and still, you manage to squeeze charity work into your jam-packed schedule. Happy birthday, big guy.
Canadian Celebs Close Out the Games: It was a true parade of Canada's finest at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Games. Our neighbors to the north trotted out their biggest and brightest starts — like Michael Buble and William Shatner — to remind us that they may not have won the medal count, but they've still got a sense of humor.
Nick Jonas Saves the Music: Remember when MTV played music? Given that Nick Jonas was probably an infant the day the music died on MTV, he most definitely doesn't, either. But, that doesn't keep him from campaigning to save music education programs on an even more local level — just because MTV forgot about music doesn't mean we have to, also.
National Woman's History Month Kicks Off: Take a moment to think about the powerful female movers and shakers in society today in honor of Woman's History Month. Who inspires us? Diane von Furstenberg, Arianna Huffington and Kelly Cutrone, to name a few.
Roger Ebert Gets a New Voice: The famed movie critic, who lost the ability to speak after beating cancer, is once again able to communicate using a new computer program from Scotland. He'll be going on Oprah this week to "speak" his Oscar predictions for the first time in three years. Two thumbs up!
