On Tour to End Hunger

I'm a big fan of The Cheesecake Factory, not only because I'm a fan of cheesecakes as a general rule, but because of the restaurant's monstrosity of a menu. Sure, it may take me half an hour to decide what I want, but as someone who doesn't eat red meat, it's always good to be able to go somewhere and know I actually have a fair amount of choices.

When it comes to choices, many people across the country don't have much of one when it comes to their next meal -- or a guarantee that they'll even have one. That's why The Cheesecake Factory is partnering with Feeding America for this month's Drive Out Hunger Tour.

Every day this month, they'll be throwing an event in a different city, and they're inviting people to come out and donate two cans of soup. For the first 500 people who make that donation, they''ll get a free slice of Stefanie's Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake. There will also be live music and a special gift for every person who donates. And those who donate will have their picture taken and be part of the photo mosaic on the Drive Our Hunger Tour's site.

If you're not in one of the 30 cities where events are taking place (here's a list), the Web site provides four ways you can still help the fight against hunger. That includes the restaurant's "You Dine, We'll Donate" day on Wednesday, September 30. If you bring two cans of soup in when you eat at the restaurant on that day, they'll donate 10 percent of your bill to a food bank in the area.

Their goal is to collect 100,000 cans of soup. They're nearing 10,000, so do what you can to help them reach that goal.
