Team Coco, Rejoice: Conan O'Brien's Going on Tour
Some people have been worrying about Conan O'Brien, wondering how he was going to recover from his ouster as The Tonight Show host and all the surrounding fallout. Worry no more, those people, because Mr. O'Brien is doing just fine, thank you very much. Not only has he gone onto Twitter and changed one person's life in the process, but he's also just announced that he's going on tour.
EOnline reports that it's called the "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television" tour (see, he's still got his sense of humor). The 32-city tour will begin on April 12 in Eugene, Ore, will include the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn., and will run through June 14, with the last show at Atlanta's Fox Theatre. And, naturally, he announced the tour on Twitter this morning. "Hey Internet: I'm heading to your town on a half-assed comedy & music tour. Go to http://TeamCoco.com for tix. I repeat: It's half-assed."
Half-assed or not, people are clearly excited about it, as his next Tweet was about TeamCoco.com having too much traffic and advising people to go to Ticketmaster. You may also want to keep up with his Twitter updates, because following the initial announcement, he's Tweeted about adding a second show in New York City and Chicago and a second night in Boston. One would assume, then, that shows are selling out quick, so don't delay.
According to BusinessWeek (via Bloomberg), sidekick Andy Richter and former members of The Tonight Show band will be joining him as well. The show's being sponsored by American Express and tickets start at $39.50, according to O'Brien's publicists. Go to TeamCoco.com to see the tour dates.
