Creed Makes a Pit-Stop

Creed is about to enter the Guinness Book of World Records, and it's not even as the world's crappiest rock band. The newly reformed group -- apparently loved by all except we jaded music critics -- will perform in Houston in front of 242 cameras, the most ever for a live broadcast. The HD webcast will air for free on the new live music site Rockpit.com.

"It's amazing how life can change and bring you full circle," says Creed singer Scott Stapp, making sure to find a way to reference the Full Circle Tour name. "Time gave us all a chance to reflect, grow and gain a deeper appreciation of our friendships, artistic chemistry, passion for music and sincere love for our fans! It's rare in life to get a second chance to make a first impression and we embrace the opportunity. We all believe the best is yet to come!"

Oh yeah, and Stapp's solo albums and the band's Alter Bridge project blew chunks. Glad it was friendship and the fans that got them back together, though.

Motives aside, Daniel E. Catullo III will direct the film, and his award-winning credits include "Rush in Rio," "Godsmack: Changes" and the Grammy-nominated "Etta James and the Roots Band: Burnin' Down the House." The broadcast is expected to draw 200,000 viewers worldwide when the site goes live Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. EST.

"Rock music is central to the identity of America and we wanted to pay tribute to the passion, creativity and style that have inspired legions of fans for decades," remarks Brian Lisi, the site's co-founder. "Iconic bands like Creed and the live rock music experience deserve to be front and center again, and the Rockpit.com platform is making this possible."

The new site has already amassed a rock database of over 500 bands and the largest full-length rock concert catalog available on the web. Users can register with the site now for the upcoming Creed concert.

Creed, who recently reformed, have sold tens of millions of albums behind hits like "Arms Wide Open," "Higher," "What's This Life For," "My Sacrifice" and "One Last Breath." Their last album, 2001's "Weathered," tied the Beatles' "Anthology" for the most consecutive weeks at No. 1 (eight) in the SoundScan era (1991 to present). The band's first album in eight years, "Full Circle," comes out Oct. 27.
