Croatia's New President Has Too Many Facebook Friends
Croatia's newly elected president Ivo Josipovic has a problem to which we can all relate: Too many Facebook friends. He already has 5,000, but with over 7,000 waiting, clicking "Accept Friend Request" is practically a full time job. Add that to, you know, presidency, and you've got a pretty full plate.
Reuters calls Croatia's third president a "silver-haired, bespectacled law expert and classical music composer," with little experience in "high politics but with a career untainted by scandal." Josipovic won 60 percent of Croatia's votes last weekend. If there are 4,431,189 Croatians (according to Google) and 60 percent of them friend him, he's going to be looking at 2,660,513.4 friend requests. Naturally, that's unlikely; the point is that the 7,000 request figure is going to keep climbing. When your livelihood is built on your charisma, you have to pay attention to things like Facebook — because your fans do.
From new TV stars to athletes who make a career defining move, the influx of Facebook requests from new fans can be overwhelming. Our take on this is that, if you plan on accepting all of them blindly, but you don't want to let an intern into your account ... Can we get an app for that? Thanks.
