Dear Diary, One Day the World Will Know My Name, Love Carrie Bradshaw
Did you ever make one of those time capsules when you were a kid? Or, at least, write out what would have been in yours should you bury the thing in the backyard with hopes that the Martians or future people would find it eons and eons from now?
What would a young Carrie Bradshaw, she of a thousand ellipses (...) from "Sex and the City" have had in hers? The pink tutu? A fantasy key to a penthouse apartment on Fifth Avenue, perhaps?
Well, we might just be able to find out now that Candace Bushnell (OMG, did you ever totally notice that Carrie Bradshaw and Candace Bushnell, her diviner, share the same initials?! Did you? Did you?) is releasing "The Carrie Diaries" ahead of the new SATC release in May 2010.
The musings of our young protagonist will center around her early love of fashion, her budding writing career, and of course love in general as seen through the eyes of a high school-age Carrie.
Maybe we'll see who influenced her in going for the un-gettable guy at such early an age.
This could totally be like "Sweet Valley High" meets "Gossip Girl," but with very deep thoughts narrated in voice over.
So, essentially, the best book to come along in a while.
