Rockin' Against Leukemia

Last June, Tonic talked with Jack's Mannequin singer Andrew McMahon about his incredible battle with acute lymphoma leukemia. His long-awaited documentary on the fight, titled "Dear Jack," is now ready to tell the rest of the story. The film will screen in theaters next month in NYC, L.A. and Chicago, and DVD and digital download editions will follow November 3.

Originally, the group was rolling cameras to document the making of their "Everything in Transit" debut, but the focus changed when the singer got the bad news and started a brutal year of treatment that only gave him a 50-50 chance to live. The film, narrated by Motley Crue's Tommy Lee, covers everything from spinal taps and radiation treatments to stem cell infusions and hair loss. It even covers his breakup with the "love of his life." The documentary is ultimately a testament to hope, strength and the friends and family that help you through, and fortunately the tale has a happy ending.

The DVD is currently available online for pre-order, which comes with a movie poster and instant access to a new song, "Swim (Music Box)." The digital editions will be available on iTunes.
