Diddy, Ashton & Demi Team Up for Fourth of July White Party!

Could it be that Diddy is getting soft in his old age, or is it that he’s getting passionate about using his fortune for good? Over the Fourth of July weekend, Sean "Diddy" Combs — entrepreneur, rapper, producer, actor and all-around hip-hop legend — joined Twitter King and Queen Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore to host “We Are Family.”  Diddy's annual White Party partnered this year with Malaria No More, the organization chaired by former Fox Entertainment Group president Peter Chernin and supported by Kutcher and Moore which is determined to end malaria deaths.

The party was an elegant affair with outdoor games, dancing and DJs. There were even performers on stilts and young ladies dancing with ribbons.

Whoa, that’s a complete 180 degrees from his White Parties of the past. Originally hosted in the Hamptons, it was the place to see and be seen in the late '90s. All the stars came out to hang with Diddy (and girlfriend J-Lo) at the height of his hip-hop fiefdom — from Naomi Campbell to the stars of Sex and the City — enough to get bulbs popping like crazy.

Diddy, then known as Puffy, was known to have the strictest rules for attendance and admittance. It was widely reported in 2007 that his people turned Katie Lee Joel (soon to be ex of Billy) away from the door because she was a wearing “a shade of cream.” The debauchery the party was known for is the stuff of PR and event legend. So lax was Diddy, that he even invited the public through Twitter ... not completely, he streamed the event online so viewers could join in the fun.

But this weekend, that was simply not the case. Always the showman, Diddy was keen to focus on the purpose of the event “Why not bring some of my love over there,” he said of moving the party from New York. “Let people experience my style of celebration … spread the love and also to shed some light on Ashton’s charity. I think that’s one of the most important things.”

Guests spotted include Lindsay Lohan singing with Tyrese, Chris Brown canoodling with Kanye ex- Amber Rose, Jonah Hill sheepishly avoiding questions from reporters and Mariah Carey, who arrived with hubby Nick Cannon.

Diddy may have tamed the party, he did not tame his requirements: everybody, one way or another, had to wear white.
