eBay WTF of the Day: Denim Overfloweth
Sometimes, it's not so much the item, but the presentation of the item that causes us to sound the WTF alarm. Such is the case with this plus sized denim skirt.
To be fair, the skirt itself deserves a little attention. The denim looks to be either really thin or fake — not flattering for anyone, let alone the beautifully plus-sized among us. In addition to the fabric issue, all the seams are frayed, on purpose. The thing is, they're not quite frayed enough to be "edgy," they just look messy. See above for whom this is not flattering on.
The seller gives salesmanship a shot (10 points for that, a rare find on eBay) with this "Always in style, the versatile denim skirt. Grab this and a T shirt and you are out the door. Dress it up and add a jacket, ready to go."
In other words, "This is the McDonald's of skirts. It's like a $6.99 value meal, and it's already supersized."
... Which leads us to the true unholy problem with this eBay listing: If you're selling a plus-sized item, don't you think it's somewhat offensive to photograph it as though it's so big, you can't even fit all of it in the frame? It's like an ocean of denim. This skirt is so incredibly, awesomely plus-sized, you'd need a panoramic camera and a crew of seven men to fit in all in one shot. We cower in the face of this $6.99 skirt, please buy it from us and free us from our shackles!
Sorry I got carried away. WTF?
