Where Are My Waffles?
Attention moms and lazy college students: Start rationing. Looks like your favorite grab-and-go meal is experiencing a shortage.
The Associated Press reports that food company Kellogg’s says there will be a shortage of their popular Eggo waffles until this summer due to setbacks — including fixing rain damage and other repairs — at two of the four plants that make them.
But as Joni Mitchell said, "Don’t it always seem to go that you don't know what you got 'til its gone?" And judging by the public outcry over the waffle shortage, we’d say Kellogg’s should feel pretty happy about the public’s affection for its famous brand.
Moms have been blogging about it; the waffles' 400 Facebook friends mourned the dearth of their favorite treat; and Twitter has been a-blaze with commentary including one user who, according to CNN, called the shortage, "a national tragedy."
So if you manage to get your mitts on a box, hold on tight, and whatever you do, don’t leggo.
