Father-to-Be Boot Camp

This is such a great idea, it's a wonder why it isn't offered in every state: Boot Camp for New Fathers!

Jezebel picked up on the story that the North Carolina Women's Hospital in Chapel Hill, N.C., is now offering a men-only program which will help these (nervous, you might say) dads-to-be get a handle on how to navigate through the world of The Newborn. Turns out there are programs for new dads and fathers-to-be all over the country!

It's truly a 21st-century model because can you imagine something like this in the 1950s? No, but wish maybe we had. (See the non-Kevin-Spacey-father in American Beauty for an example of why).

The Boot Camp for New Dads program gives new dads a place to ask questions, get advice, address their fears and interact with other fathers and their newborns. The program is nationwide (in 42 states and on military bases), so click here for more information and to find a program in your area.

So hooray for these forward-thinking fathers who sign up so they won't find themselves holding the (diaper) bag and wondering what to do with it.
