Fiancée Surprises Beau With Airport Wedding
When it comes to getting married, things like a fancy reception hall, ice sculptures and even wedding guests are ultimately superfluous. In the end, only two things matter: the bride and the groom.
And that's why we think it's pretty cool that Robyn Moore threw tradition squarely out the window Monday and decided to surprise her long-distance fiancé with a wedding at the one place they know best: the airport. The two have maintained a long-distance relationship since they met a year and a half ago in Dallas, where Moore lives and Acosta was visiting on a business trip. The original plan was for the pair to drive to Toledo this week, where Moore agreed to set up a new life, and get hitched once they arrived. But Moore clearly had a different idea in mind.
As William Acosta walked past the security checkpoint at the Corpus Christi International Airport after a flight from Toledo, he was greeted with an unexpected vision in white: his bride-to-be in a wedding gown, with a justice of the peace by her side. Although stunned, Acosta was thrilled with the surprise and exchanged vows right there in the airport, dressed in jeans and a sweater.
"I thought it was going to be the 24th because that is when we agreed," Acosta told The Toledo Blade. "But she had this all planned. She looked beautiful and I was stunned, so excited, and just very happy. I couldn't have been happier."
"I thought 'I don't want to wait' and I thought it would be really fitting since we spent so much time in airports," Moore added, explaining her motives. "We are driving back to Toledo and this was going to be our last trip meeting like this at an airport."
It's just a hunch, but we have a feeling life for these newlyweds will continue to be full of surprises.
