Free Food at Jack in the Box!
We love a good sandwich, especially when it's free. As Tonic told you earlier today, IHOP is celebrating National Pancake Day with a free stack. But they're not the only national chain feeling generous. For the next eight or so hours (depending on your time zone), you can nosh on Jack in the Box grub en gratis with the purchase of a large drink.
According to The Huffington Post, simply visit the chain with the goofy smiley face logo and take home a turkey bacon cheddar, roasted turkey, or deli trio (salami, ham, turkey) sandwich completely free.
Jack in the Box has locations throughout the United States including Missouri, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, but folks in the northeast don't have a Jack nearby, so be on the lookout for increased traffic in the southbound lanes.
Regardless, the trend of national chains offering free food is something we think almost anyone can support, whether it be Jack in the Box, IHOP, or Denny's, which offered a free Grand Slam breakfast Feb. 9 to honor the then-upcoming Super Bowl.
In a nod to healthy eating, all the free Jack-in-the-Box sandwiches are grilled — not fried. It seems this is the latest chain to embrace waist-friendly food. Taco Bell, McDonald's and other chains have already jumped on that bandwagon. During a period when the country is trying to fight a childhood obesity epidemic, that's a very good thing.
So head to Jack in the Box and get your free, healthy-ish food. Your stomach and your wallet will thank you.
