From Denmark to Minneapolis, People Paying It Forward
Guest Post by Nipun Mehta Nipun Mehta is a great friend of Tonic and we are pleased that he shares content about all things good from his CharityFocus Blog. You will occasionally see Nipun's contributions here, as well as those of his readers and writers, and all he asks is that you help "pay it forward" as you will see people do in these posts.
In Denmark, where bicycles are a common mode of transport, police have started to stop the bicyclists and gift them a helmet. But that's not it. They also include a hug with it:
In New York, an anonymous donor gave $74 million to 14 colleges — all run by women.
NBC reports of a popular Michigan diner where an anonymous donor covered the food and tip. When asked for the bill, all diners received a note saying, "Your meal and your server's gratuity are a treat of anonymous business owner. All he asks is that you consider doing something kind and unexpected for someone else in the next week."
And last but not least, Carlos Vasquez is offering free dry-cleaning to all his unemployed clients ... because he knows that first impressions count. It's an act that was replicated by Elite Cleaners in Minneapolis to more than 2000 unemployed.
[Thanks, Mali!]
