Get Bill Clinton's iPod

Bill Clinton iPod auctionThe Tonic iPod Auction Series is totally rocking out. Mostly, it's rad to see so much love and support going to Music Rising, the killer nonprofit that is committed to keeping New Orleans' musical heartbeat alive and thriving.

Also, the stars who are signing up are so genuinely cool, from Britney Spears to Marc Jacobs to Mariah Carey to Ellen Degeneres (her auction fetched over $5,000 for Music Rising).

The lineup runs the gamut, and there's a cultural icon for everyone. Even you politicos can't hide. No, we didn't get Cheney to share his Shuffle. But we do have Bill Clinton, who's cracking open his songbook for one lucky bidder.

His playlist is so genius. How cool to get a peek into the presidential soundtrack? Turns out it's pretty classic, with tried-and-true tracks stacked up in his autographed Nano. I can't help but wonder at what point he was singing along to "Bridge Over Troubled Water," or when he got his Willie Nelson on. I'm not even going to get curious about "Brown Eyed Girl." (What?!?)

Here's Clinton's full playlist:

"Brown Eyed Girl" (Van Morrison) "I Get Along Without You Very Well" (Carly Simon) "Bahia" (Stan Getz with Charlie Byrd) "Bridge Over Troubled Water" (Simon & Garfunkel) "Crown Imperial" (“The Presidents Own” U.S. Marine Band) "Angel" (Sarah McLachlan) "Philadelphia Freedom" (Elton John) "English Folk Song Suite [1-3]" (North Texas Wind Symphony) "A Song for You" (Willie Nelson) "Winds of the Old Days" (Joan Baez) "Concierto de Aranjuez [1-3]" (John Williams)

Bill Clinton iPod auctionClinton hasn't spent the past eight years surfing on the coattails of his presidency. Not by a long shot. He continues to be such a huge crusader for human rights and civil liberties, founding the Clinton Global Initiative and the William J. Clinton Foundation. He travels the world sharing stories of tragedy and hope, tirelessly committed to peace and equality. And let's not forget his role as supportive husband to Madam Secretary of State. Getting your grubby little hands on a one-of-a-kind signed piece of Clinton memorabilia will land one lucky bidder a sweet snapshot of one of modern history's icons.

Ellen's iPod brought in over $5,000. I would so love to see Clinton break that record and up the ante for upcoming ScarJo and Will.i.am auctions. Wonder how far you guys can push this thing?
