Get Happier at Happier.com
Wanna get happier? There's now a website specifically designed to help you do it. It's Happier.com (see, that's so simple, I bet you're already a bit happier) and it's a site designed to make you "happier and more resilient."
The site touts a methodical approach. As they say, "through tests and exercises to measure, track and improve happiness, thousands of users have experienced a meaningful improvement. Easy-to-use applications, both online and for the iPhone, provide users with the tools they need to be happier." What kind of tools? Basically, they're videos that get you going toward a specific goal, such as decreasing stress and anxiety, increasing happiness and positive emotions, building positive relationships, increasing your resilience, discovering strengths and building on them.
The research they share with their members has been created in conjunction with various psychologists, including Martin Seligman, Barbara Fredrickson, Robert Biswas-Diener and Todd Kashdan, all of whom have authored various books and articles and engineered well-known happiness exercises.
There's a discussion forum on the site, plus a blog, and you can set up your own profile. With all the things out there claiming to make you happier through distraction, it's refreshing to find a site that goes straight at the issue. I'm happy just thinking about it.
