Get Spooky for Charity in Transylvania
Did you know you can spend Halloween in Transylvania, get some great exercise and help needy Romanian children all at the same time? That's right, the Halloween Charity Ride in Transylvania is set for Oct. 30, and you're invited to take part.
The four-day bicycle trek takes riders through gorgeous Transylvania from the historic city of Brasov to Dracula's famous castle in Bran 40 kilometers away. Riders are required to raise a sponsorship of at least 500 pounds (that's about $800 in colonial dollars), which includes accommodation, food and (depending where you're at) airfare. Bikes will also be provided.
The monies raised benefit the Foundation for the Relief of Disabled Orphans, which helps out needy kids in Romania. For more information, contact Celia at the foundation (celia@frodokids.org or 020-7602-7946). For more information, visit here or here.
A charity ride that's healthy and helps children? You never know, Count Dracula might just grant you a pass if he catches you... but no promises.
