Fast Food, Even Faster
There's fast food. And then there's super fast food. Because who wants to get out of their car, wait in line, pay and then wait for the food to arrive, when you can order and pay with no wait, at the click of a mouse? Marketplace Money reports the folks at Gomobo are counting on your impatience.
Gomobo is a new Web site that allows you to order and pay for food at participating retaurants from your computer or your phone. When you get to the restaurant -- presto! -- your value meal is already waiting for you. No waiting in line necessary. And it's free. Gomobo doesn't get its money from consumers. It gets it from restuarants -- like Subway and Burger King.
So how much faster is Gomobo than buying food the analog way? When Marketplace did a test run, they found the service cut five minutes out of the whole food ordering process. How many people need their food that fast anyway? We think this service is going to do great in places like New York City. But for this consumer segment, we think we have an even better idea: Why can't we just get our daily meals in pill form? That saves two hours that we could be returning emails on our BlackBerry!
