Google Celebrates MJ's Birthday With a Doodle

Pop icon, and possibly one of the greatest songwriters to grace our lives, Michael Jackson would have turned 51 years old today and Google is celebrating it in style.

The search titan, with its usual artistic flair and grace, illustrates the magical dancing feet of the deceased pop singer whose death, ironically, is also being officially ruled a homicide today by California law enforcement officials.

The first result on the search list linked to the Google Doodle is a report from AFP that states the singer had at least six deadly drugs in his system when he died on June 25.

Writer Rob Woollard reports that the Jackson clan had initially planned to bury Jackson today but instead the day will herald a long list of celebrations that includes a huge festival that took place in Prospect Park. Brooklyn's borough president, Marty Markowitz, also declared today as "Michael Jackson Day."
