Get Your Kicks With Mike Dirnt
Green Day knows there's nothing worse than stepping in dookie when you ain't got no shoes. That's why Mike Dirnt is doing something about it.
Green Day's bassist has partnered with Macbeth Footwear for the Studio Project shoe, the 45 RPM. Designed according to Dirnt's direction, these new punk rock kicks will direct the bassist's proceeds to the Nashville-based Soles4Soles, an international charity that provides free shoes to people in need. The organization, which also takes new and used shoe donations, has already distributed over 5 million pairs to shoeless folks in over 125 countries, including Uganda, Honduras and Romania. The new 45 RPM shoe — available at Journeys stores and online — is available in both low and high top versions, and every shoe is 100 percent animal-free in its creation and distribution.
It looks like Green Day is still striving for a green world.
