Wanna Hang?

942133330_047026a4e8_m.jpgSome people don't want to see their neighbors air their laundry. Literally. And it's not even their dirty laundry, either.

Reuters reports that in many towns across the country, citizens are being told to put their clothespins away. Some say it's an aesthetic issue. Others say they don't want their apartment complex to house the kind of people who hang their underwear out for everyone to see.

But Project Laundry List, a non-profit advocacy group fighting for legislation giving people the right to hang clothes says that not only can people save money by air drying, but they are also doing the environment a service. Dryers account for six percent of US electricity use, the nonprofit says.

So far, six states — including Florida, Utah, Maine, Colorado, Hawaii and Vermont — have laws that don't allow authorities to prevent residents from hanging their clothes.

We love what hanging clothes does for the environment and our wallets. We also love the fact that it's a foolproof way to prevent shrinking your new wool sweater down to the size of a Barbie shirt. What? We're not speaking from experience or anything.
