Head to the Hamptons, Help Fight AIDS
The Hamptons may be just a small chain of towns on the farthest end of Long Island, but their name alone brings to mind mansions, magnums of champagne and the mega-wealthy. This summer community (which is actually a terrific place to visit throughout the year) has become synonymous with the good life, even in today's economy, when the number of people that can afford it isn't exactly snowballing.
But the Hamptons aren't necessarily all about hedonism. This Saturday, one of its most popular annual events, Love Heals at Luna Farm, is actually a fundraiser for a great cause. The bash, which is held right near East Hampton in Sagaponack, is a charity event for the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education, a nonprofit that goes into schools to help teach kids about the disease. And with a benefit committee including the likes of Ivanka Trump and Russell Simmons, you can bet the benefit will raise a Hamptons-worthy amount for the cause.
If you're heading out east this weekend, tickets for Love Heals are still available. The event will include a lavish barbecue, silent auction, and plenty of schmoozing with the glamorous set. What designer should you wear if you're attending? Definitely Charlotte Ronson (pictured at last year's Love Heals), since she's the host this year of this always-fun event.
