He's a Bra Man ... But Not in That Way

Besides having an awesome name, Oz du Soleil, appears to be, generally, just awesome.

The Chicagoan started a project called Support1000, an organization to collect bras for low-income women. According to his website, they have collected over 3000 bras, which have been donated to women and girls in emergency shelters, high schools, churches, transitional housing and more in Illinois, South Dakota and Colorado.

The idea of collecting the bras came about in a confluence of potential art piece meets blog idea. Du Soleil was thinking of both when he originally started collecting the bras. Once his collection grew, he realized he has something big in his hands, and the social responsibility seed started to germinate. Bras are one of the most-needed yet least-donated items for women and girls who are counting on the kindness of strangers, or innovative brassiere-collectors like du Soleil to give them support, and beyond that, a little more dignity to their lives.

If you have bras that are in still good condition you can contact du Soleil's organization here, or look into your own local charities to see who will take them.
