If Babies Could Talk

Call it invention fever: A British dad has spent six years perfecting a onesie that will tell parents when their baby has a temperature.

Chris Ebejer, 46, has invented a onesie that changes color, going from pink, blue or pastel green to white when the baby's temperature rises above 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ebejer, a father of one from Suffolk, England, was inspired six years ago by a documentary about how children under the age of two can't control their body temperature. He searched for a dye with heat-sensitive molecules, eventually working with scientists — and spending $1.5 million — to invent it.

"Mothers are going to find these invaluable," Ebejer told the U.K.'s Daily Mail. "Heat is invisible. The suit changes that and makes it visible."

Ebejer calls the product Babyglow, a play on "babygrow," the British word for onesie. He's signed a $22 million contract to take the product global. It should be available from October for about $30.
