Joss Stone Got Her Frog on and So Can You!
Prince really knows how to get celebs to support the environment. No, not the purple guy, the Prince of Wales! The Prince's Rainforests Project, which raises awareness to the connection between climate change and rain forest destruction, launched a series of Public Service Announcements last month that paired well-known personalities with the organization's rainforest ambassador, an animated frog. Joss Stone, Robin Williams, Pelé, the Dalai Lama, Harrison Ford and even Kermit himself took part in the PSAs, and now you can, too!The organization just debuted a "Make Your Own Message" application in which anyone with a computer can make a custom PSA with the fabled frog by either uploading a photo or using a Web camera. The hope is that individuals will send out their PSAs and help build support for environmental protections leading into December's climate change conference in Copenhagen. "The launch of our new application, allowing our supporters to make their own message and become part of our campaign video, is very exciting," said Briony Mathieson, Head of Communications for The Prince's Rainforests Project. "This innovative technology makes our project truly interactive, and, we hope, will help spread the message and support for the campaign as people share their videos and post them online. The power and reach of the online community is vast and is the perfect way to expand our activity."While she is clearly excited about the application, Mathieson did not know if kissing the frog would produce another prince. Maybe you should sign on and find out!
