Kings of Leon Catch the Saturday Night Fever
You know, it's funny, when I first heard the Kings' hit "Sex on Fire," I never once thought it'd make for a great dance floor remix. That just goes to show how little I know because the band's platinum-selling Only By the Night is about to get the boogie down treatment.
That's right, a release date has not been announced, but Kings of Leon have already collected dance remixes from Kenna, Lykke Li and Linkin Park and landed commitments from Justin Timberlake, the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams and Mark Ronson, the man behind Amy Winehouse (I mean, besides that annoying Blake kid). Sounds a bit strange, right? Just keep in mind that the Followill brothers were raised Pentecostal and taught that dancing was a sin, so for them this could be a great way to purge those pent up feelings of childhood rebellion.
And what will the dance remixes sound like? In all honesty, it could sound like crap, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dying to hear them. If nothing else, it'll be great to see all those rock fans finally buying their first dance album. Who knows, if glow sticks follow, we might have the change the band's name to Kings of Neon!
