Lance Armstrong's Livestrong, the Magazine Version

livestrongmag2.jpgFor so many people seven-time Tour de France cyclist extraordinaire, Lance Armstrong, is a hero in a yellow jersey. Many of those people are fellow cancer survivors. Armstrong's Livestrong foundation, made famous by the ubiquitous yellow rubber bracelet, brought awareness to not only testicular cancer, but other cancers as well.

Now, Armstrong, along with Spot On media, will have the potential to reach even more survivors through Livestrong Quarterly, a new online and print publication.

The mag's first cover star? Well, of course, Lance himself, but next to him stands World Swimming Champion Eric Shanteau, who found out he had cancer right before he was heading to the Beijing Olympics in 2008, in which he still competed and posted a personal best time.

The editor-in-chief, Curtis Pesman, is also a cancer survivor.

A magazine like Livestrong Quarterly with coverage that is dedicated to insights, resources and support for those bravely battling cancer, couldn't come at a better time. Here, you can get informed, you can get enlightened, you can come here when you can't leave your bed or hospital room and not feel alone. The sponsors behind the publication are the Mayo Clinic and Genentech so, along with articles on health and wellness, will be news on the latest drugs and pharmaceuticals on the horizon for treatment.

Because when you're talking about dealing with cancer, there's nobody that has it who doesn't want to live strong through it.
