Is Your Dog Hurting the Planet?

We hope (and assume) that your whole family's chipping in to help the planet by conserving energy, recycling as much as possible, and eating organically ... but what about your dog? Even if you're eco-aware, your favorite pooch may well still be eating Alpo and sleeping on a bed that's made of gnarly, landfill-clogging synthetics.

To help with that latter issue comes My Real Dog Burrow Bedding, a unique blanket-like sleeping station for dogs. It's essentially a giant swath of indestructible fabric that dogs instinctively curl up on (or, in the case of many pooches, inside) for a sound night's sleep. The fabric has a little bit of padding inside, but it doesn't require the large amount of non-recyclable filling a traditional doggie bed does, plus this bedding is easy to wash and travel with. And if you have more than one dog, they can (and love to!) share one of these blankies in a sort of nightly canine love-in.

My Real Dog Burrow Bedding is the brainchild of a former soldier who found his five dogs — and any that visited them — loved to sleep burrowed in a old piece of fabric he'd brought back from his tour of duty.  To produce his invention for the masses, My Real Dog teamed up with Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind, helping employ blind and sight-impaired workers.
